New Delhi, Apr 13 (IANS): Huawei's newly-launched P20 Pro has pipped other flagship smartphones by grabbing the top spot in both the imaging and video formats in "DxOMark Rankings" -- a trusted industry standard for camera and lens image quality measurements and ratings.
Achieving an overall score of 109 points, Huawei P20 Pro set a new benchmark for smartphone cameras on DxOMark.com, the company said in a statement.
Earlier, with an overall "DxOMark" score of 99 points, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus took the number one spot, edging out Google Pixel 2 by just one point.
Owned by France-based "DxOMark Image Lab", DxOMark is a website providing image-quality ratings for standalone cameras, lenses and mobile devices that include cameras.
Backed by the world's first triple camera, Huawei P20 Pro sports 40MP RGB sensor, 20MP monochrome sensor and 8MP telephoto sensor coupled with wide-aperture to capture crisp and clear images.
The device also allows long-range photography of up to 5X "Hybrid Zoom".
The new Huawei P20 series smartphones support six-axis stabilisation and 960fps super slow motion.
The device also features a 24MP selfie camera with Artificial Intelligence (AI) beautification and 3D portrait lighting.
The "DxOMark" camera sensor score measures the quality of the RAW image captured by a camera. The overall score consists of colour depth for portrait photography, low-light ISO for sports, wildlife and other action photography.
