Puttur, Mar 31: The rope of the swing that was tied for younger brother's play became the rope of death for a young girl. This heart-wrenching incident is reported from Nattibail near Uppinangadi on the night of Friday, Mar 30.
Anjali Chauhan (13), daughter of Rajkumar Chauhan and Sarita Chauhan, natives of Uttar Pradesh, presently residing in a rented house at Uppinangady is the unfortunate victim of this tragic incident. She was a seventh-grade student of Sri Rama Vidyalaya, Uppinangady.
As there was a holiday for school on account of Good Friday, Anjali played with younger brother Aman the whole day. A swing was tied near the entrance door in order for her younger brother to play. In the evening, Anjali was asked to bring firewood by her mother. Anjali, who entered the house with firewood in her hand, got entangled with the thin rope that was tied to use a swing for her brother Aman. The rope formed a loop around her neck and she was asphyxiated and became unconscious.
Though Anjali was admitted to the hospital immediately by her parents, the doctors declared her brought dead. A case was registered at Uppinangady police station.
