Mangaluru, Mar 25: The Christian community celebrated Palm Sunday amid chanting of ‘Hosanna’ on March 25 in various parishes in city as well as in various parts of coastal districts
Palm Sunday marks the arrival of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, where his disciples gave him a warm welcome by waving palm leaves, a gesture to signify the victory of good over evil. Palm Sunday also marks the beginning of the Holy Week.
Thousands of devotees carrying palm leaves marched in unison in different parishes including Rosario Cathedral, Milagres, Valencia, Bendore, Jeppu, Cascia, Urwa and Kulshekar.

The Holy Week will end on Easter Sunday with ceremonies including on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day.
