Mangaluru, Mar 24: Bearys Institute of Technology Inoli and Blood Helpline Karnataka under the aegis of Yenepoya Hospital, Deralakatte on March 22 held a massive blood donation camp at Bearys Knowledge campus, here.
The programme was chaired by Bearys Institute of Technology senior advisor Dr S K Raikar. College students in the presence of the college principal Dr Anthony A J sang a devotional song and set the programme in motion.
Saif Sultan Sayyed, founder of Hope Foundation and chief guest said that 1 unit of blood can save three lives. “All should be alert and save the life of another by donating blood as written in the holy book. Every religion stresses on saving lives. Therefore, blood donation camps should increase.”
Dr S K Raikar said that Bearys Educational Institute has been encouraging students in several pro society programmes. “More than one hundred students who took part in the blood donation camp delivered a positive message to society.”
Saif Sultan Sayyed was felicitated by Dr Anthony A J and Mustafa Addooru Demmale on behalf of Bearys Institute of Technology and Helpline Karnataka. Sirajuddin Parladka was honored by Dr Anthony A J and Saif Sultan Sayyed with a memento and a shawl. 162 people including students, professor and staff took part in the camp. Yenepoya Hospital Deralakatte blood bank officers team and staff cooperated in collecting blood.
Dr Anthony A J, professor Mustafa Bastikodi, Dr Azeem Mustafa, Mustafa Addoor Demmale, Helpline Karnataka admin Sirajuddin Parladka, social activist Sharif Abbas Valal and Nasir R B were present.
Professor Mustafa Bastikodi welcomed the gathering. Urusa Khan compered the programme. Nithin thanked everyone.
The organizers of the camp expressed their gratitude to those who donated blood, cooperated in the camp, students and teaching staff, administration and those who worked continuously for its success.
