Mangaluru: 22-year-old youth killed in bike-car collision at Yeyyadi

Mangaluru, Mar 24: A 22-year-old youth died and another sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car at Yeyyadi on Friday, March 23.

The deceased has been identified as Pushparaj, a resident of Bajal, Kurathadka.

Pushparaj’s friend was riding the motorcycle. They were on their way home from their workplace. While passing through Yeyyadi, their bike rammed into a car, inflicting serious injuries on the duo.

After the mishap, locals gathered at the spot and rushed the injured to a hospital in the city. However, Pushparaj breathed his last soon after reaching the hospital.

Pushparaj is survived by his elder brother Dheeraj.

A case was registered at Kadri police station.

    Once again ,a tragedy in Mangalore...! Last week two young boys died at Perdoor ..! It's very sad to read this news. I think we must submit memorandum to both Mangalore and Udupi SP to take immediate actin to prevent two wheeler accidents. And have discussion to stop road accidents with concerned authority. Anybody interested to join this mission?

    Very sad incident. . whose mistake here? Accident spot looks like in the airport broad road where street lights are clear. If that car driver waited for one minute he could have avoided that accident and now he is responsible for the death of that young boy and heavy loss for his family. May be alcohol influenced driving. Cancel both driving licences so that others can learn lessons.
    if car driver is politically influenced person he will survive in human eyes, but unbearable loss to one mother which nobody could fill. I know pushparaj . He is a very hard working dedicated and family supporter and was a lovable person . RIP friend. Rest in peace.....

    GETTING A DL IS VERY EASY THT MAKES ALL THS problem just study he/she will get DL after one month in kerala 3 tests my frnd failed 5 times in 2nd attempt cops say ths guys fly so we made it tight....n no bribe thr n divers not wearing proper helmet bike 1.5 lacks helmet 150 rupees ...boys only few riders wear ISI branded helmets n ladies thy wear helmet gloves but legs sandals... shoes is allways safe 1st we have to safeguard ourself then trust in GOD

    Pushparaj was my college mate a good chap he was known to ride steady this time it was his friend who was riding. never know what faith has on offer for us. Ride safe friends enough being notorious on roads let's become responsible and take traffic rules seriously. May your soul rest in peace buddy.

    It is not question of cancellation of driving licences, but not following the rules of the roads by drivers.
    When I was abroad, I used to feel bad about the death of youngsters in bike accidents. But after coming to Mangalore I feel that death is due to rash driving of the riders

    I think our traffic and roads are not suitable for speeds above 60 KMH , which ever may be the vehicle.

    Unfortunately these youngsters think they are flying a plane on the road. The speed at which they ride is just a nightmare for road users. These youngsters do not know the consequences of their rash
    driving . They may not live to see the consequences but it is for their family to grieve and live with this tragedy for the rest of their lives.

    Cancel all the licences issued to the drivers a like demonetisation.
    Issue new licences with proper training with maximum lane disciplines.
    Those who comment violations for the 2nd & 3rd time should never be given driving licences.
