Mysuru, Jan 25: "My political life is an open book. I have nothing to hide. People know well about my ideals, my political life, and my background. Therefore, I am confident that the people will not believe in malicious propaganda indulged in by BJP leaders during their 'Parivartana Yatra'," felt Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking to media persons here on Wednesday January 24.
"BJP leaders have not been getting anything to harp on my government's performance. Therefore, they have been claiming that I run Tughluq's style of administration and that I am arrogant. I am self-confident, but for BJP I look like being overtly proud. If BJP leaders assume that they can rise to power by passing adverse comments about me and hurling abuses at me, there cannot be more profound idiots than them. People are not morons. They know everything," Siddaramaiah stated.
The chief minister pointed out that it is not possible to repeatedly mislead people. He advised his critics to check for themselves their own statuses before coming to power and their meteoric rise in financial standing thereafter. "People with a rat in their plates should never hunt for a housefly that has fallen in someone else's plate," he advised.
He reminded the BJP that he is not new to politics and people of this district and the entire state are aware about his character and potentials. "I am among only a few leaders who have been involved with campaigns in all the elections held since 1994. I know what moves people and what is going on in their minds. People have been observing me. People will never trust what the BJP leaders say about me in their 'Parivartana Yatra' programmes. BJP leaders are badly in need of transformation (Parivartana), not the people," he asserted.
He said BJP has no foothold in districts like Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru rural, Hassan, and Kolar districts. "BJP does not have candidates to be put up in these districts. To cover up this shortcoming, they have been moving around, beating their own drums and singing their own tunes in the name of Parivartana Yatra. The only achievements of BJP leaders is going to jail when in power," he condemned.
He also advised BJP leaders to review their own political life before criticizing someone else. He wanted to know from union minister, Prakash Javadekar, whether he has studied astrology, going by his claim that BJP will rise to power in the next election. "What does Javadekar know about Karnataka? Even Yeddyurappa lacks knowledge of Karnataka," he felt.
