Madikeri, Jan 24: "The Congress state government has deliberately instigated the bandh over Mahadayi issue to interfere with BJP national president Amit Shah's visit to Mysuru the same day and Prime Minister Modi visit to Bengaluru on February 4," allegd BJP state president Yeddyurappa.
He warned that BJP will call for bandh in districts where Congress national president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit.
Speaking after inaugurating BJP ‘Parivartana Yatra’ in Gandhi Maidan here on Wednesday January 24, he expressed his dissatisfaction saying that Congress has indirectly come forward to observe Karnataka bandh through various organizations on January 25 and February 4.
"Congress is conspiring to hold bandh when Prime Minister Modi visits Bengaluru on February 4 for the concluding leg of Parivartana Yatra. If this is the way Congress acted, BJP too will hold bandh and protests wherever AICC president Rahul Gandhi visits," he said.
"BJP national president Amit Shah is likely to visit Mysuru for Parivartana Yatra. The Congress government in order to create unnecessary hassles has called for bandh through other organizations. But the Parivartana Yatra will take place in the presence of lacs of activists," he asserted.
"Chief minister Siddaramaiah cannot present budget with Assembly elections approaching. The law does not allow it. The state government is hurriedly preparing to show new bills for old stones," he alleged.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the state next month. During his visit, he is also expected to hold a road show from Mangaluru to Udupi and visit various temples including Sri Krishna Math.
