Bengaluru, Jan 24: Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) will be conferring its prestigious awards to three eminent personalities Paul Moras, Corrine Rasquinha and Vivek Aranha for their achievements, contribution to the community and the society at large.
The awards will be conferred on the February 4 at 4:30pm at Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road, Opposite St Patrick’s Church, Richmond Town, Bengaluru.
Paul Moras for Lifetime Achievement Award
Paul is a well-known Konkani activist, writer, researcher and social worker. He has rendered service to the Konkani community for the last 3 decades. He has also published Konkani research volumes and several research articles. His books have been selected for higher studies in universities of Goa and Mangaluru. He has also received Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy award.
Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha for Professional Excellence Award
Corrine is the founder of White Doves, NGO based in Mangaluru. She is a well-known social worker and leader. She is revered for her selfless services of providing shelter, food and rehabilitation of destitute and street people without discrimination of caste, creed and gender. She has changed thousands of lives who were in need and reunited many destitute with their family members. White Doves runs two homes for destitute in Dakshina Kannada district. Her NGO has been recognized by national and international associations..
Vivek Aranha for Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Vivek Aranha, Chairman Rosary Education Group Pune -a multifaceted personality - is the head of second generation Aranha family. The Aranha family is the pioneers in the field of education for the past 58 years. Vivek has master degrees in Education/Sociology and English from Pune University. He was rank holder during his postgraduate studies. Started in a small way in 1958, with one school, Rosary Education Group blossomed into a vast Institution with 8 schools, 2 colleges and a Teachers Training Institute under his leadership. Rosary has more than 10000 students in its rolls.
Federation Day celebrations also include cultural programme, dance, music and a Konkani drama “Yours Obediently” by Arun Raj and team from Mangaluru.
Justice P Vishwanath Shetty, Lokayukta, Karnataka State will be the Chief Guest. . Ivan D’Souza, Chief Whip to the Karnataka Legislative Council, J R lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South, R Sampath Raj, Mayor –Bengaluru City will be the Guests of Honour. Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bengaluru, will be presiding over the 21st Federation Day Celebrations.
The present Chairman and Secretary of FKCA are, Dr Anand Edward D’Souza and Sunil Cutinho.
