Mangaluru, Jan 23: The Muhurtham for the upcoming Tulu movie ‘Pattis Gang’ was held on Monday January 22 at Mangala Devi temple here.

Mayor Kavita Sanil, director and actor, Devadas Kapikad, Prakash Pandeshwar, Sharmila Kapikad, movie producers, Manikath Kadri, music director and Manoj Kumar, producer lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.

In his introductory speech, Preetham M N, co-producer of the movie said, “‘Pattis Gang’ is a movie produced by Manoj Kumar and directed by Sooraj Bolar. The movie is dedicated to late Anand Bolar, one of the great stage artistes of the coastal region. His son Sooraj Bolar has written the story and screenplay. When we were in the initial stage, we planned to hire a director from outside. But after many rounds of discussion, we decided that Sooraj should direct this movie. Being a musician and technical sound person, he is an apt person to direct this movie. Sooraj then selected a young and dynamic team for the production. Being a soft spoken and dedicated person, there is no doubt that he will deliver a good and classy movie to the Tulu film industry.”

Wishing the movie team, mayor Kavita Sanil said, “Anand Bolar is my close relative and today his son Sooraj Bolar is coming up with his new venture ‘Pattis Gang’. Sooraj Bolar is a very calm and composed person and he is known for his dedicated work. I wish success to all the team members.”

Actor and director Devadas Kapikad appreciated the teamwork of Manikanth Kadri and Sooraj Bolar. He remembered the days with Anand Bolar where he trained and took guidance from him.

Later, director Sooraj Bolar introduced all his technical team members and artistes.

The first scene was shot at Don Bosco hall.
