Mangalore, Jul 25: Some activists of the Sangh Parivar outfits had assaulted Mable Vegas from Vittal on Saturday July 20, in connection with a land dispute. Although a complaint was filed with the police and the accused were named therein, the police have failed to arrest them so far.

Protesting against the lethargic attitude of the police officials in this connection, catholic leaders led by Iavan Souza, Anil Fermai, Arun Nirkan, Roshan Madtha and Savil Mascarenhas met union minister Oscar Fernandes in Mangalore on Thursday July 25 and handed over a memorandum to him. The leaders demanded justice for the Catholics, expressing their displeasure about the fact that till date no arrests have been made by the police relating to the incident. The culprits who committed this crime have been roaming around freely but the Vittal police inspector has not taken any action against them, they rued.

The leaders also expressed their suspicion that the police were under tremendous pressure from the top-level state politicians against arresting the culprits. Representatives of Catholic Sabha and ICYM were present on the occasion. Later, these leaders visited the hospital where Mabel is undergoing treatment and promised her of getting justice. Oscar Fernandes promised them that the central government will initiate steps necessary to bring the culprits to book.

We talk about peace and prepare for war, why? Is everything beautiful and uncorrupted in this country? Is man not against man? The recent attack on Ms. Mabel Viegas and her family members is the sad news for all the catholics because it is not the attack on her alone, but it is on all the christians. Therefore it is our primary duty to evaluate this problem by raising our voices and giving justice to Mabel Viegas and her family.

It is an inhuman act on the part of Sangh parivar to assault the family of Cyril Viegas, which was brutally attacked by a band of people at late night. Being known this issue very well, why the govt of Karnataka is remaining silent on this case? Does it not have law to punish the culprits?

Violence of any kind is sin against God and mankind. No one has right to take law in hands. The government need to prove its mettle by initiating unbiased investigation of the incident.

All right thinking Indians should condemn the dastardly midnight attack on Mabel Vieges and her family members by BJP goons. The police should immediately arrest all the culprits irrespective of their political and communal background. It is crystal clear from so many incidents all over the country that wherever the BJP is in power, minorities are under constant threat. The BJP which is nurtured by the blue poison of the RSS has scant respect for the laws of the country and the human rights of minorities. It is a sad commentary on the state of our country that democratically elected state governments such as in Karnataka are controlled by extra-constitutional elements like the RSS.

Neither the Union government nor any state government has shown any real will to book the RSS goons who have committed murder, arson and rioting. Minorities are no longer safe in the land of their birth and a country that they proudly call theirs. Isn’t it time that the minorities organize themselves and defend themselves against the murderous Sangh Parivar goondas and goons and their nefarious plans?

I agree with Mr.Pai some miscreants using the name of political parties are able to create havoc. In my opinion these parties are to be blamed for having racial agendas. As a christian I feel the values inculcated in us has provided us from retaliating with violence. We forgive those who sin against us but dont bring on the wrath of God upon youll by harming peace loving and kind and helpful people.

Its highly deplorable and despicable for men to hit out and thrash a defence less women. There is just no justification for such behavior. This incident must be investigated thoroughly and the culprits brought to book immediately. Otherwise, it will send out wrong signals to anti-social elements that they can resort to physical violence to get their own way. Let the law of land remain supreme not the goon culture.

Absolutely disgusting a formal FIR needs to be registered against the Vittal police inspector for not taking action.Looks like he is hand-in- glove with this Bajrang Dal.we people need to stand up for our rights and take it by force if it is not given to us rightfully.I strongly request our fellow Indians irrespective of their religion not to support such an act of aggression and such a destructive force in the name of religion against people of any community because if you support this today then tomorrow it might back fire you.

RSS will realize sooner than later what they have done to a innocent. If there was any dispute they should go to the judiciary rather taking law in their hands. Our honourable Chief Minister, Mr. Yeddyurappa should intervene and prove that BJP is for all and not for a few by ordering to catch the culprits. He should prove what he said before the elections as well as when he met religious people immidiatelty after he became the CM. If not, then what he said was not true. The Government should know their first priority is to give protection to all.

These pictures and the previous pictures are proof enough for the police to arrest the culprits. Its high time the SHO and the Police inspector be taken to task for not taking any action. The victims need to take the help of advocate Ivan dsouza who is already involved in this matter and file a FIR against the concerned police personnel in their own police station.

They will then be able to get a dose of their own medicine. I hope and pray the honourable court will look into this matter and bring the culprits to book including the police personnel for not taking any action and by letting the common man lose his faith in law and order and judiciary.

It is extremely disgusting to note the extreme behaviour of some hooligans in the name of RSS or BJP or any other extremist groups. Its a shame on them to attack a lady, who is equivalent to their mother, sister or wive. How do they deal with their own spouses ?? Please educate them to become better world leaders rather than small hooligans of India???

How any manly person can attack a defenseless woman, I don’t understand. Why police are encouraging the goons get into such act? Do we have any law in this land? Who is answerable?
