Kundapur, Jan 16: In a cruel twist of fate, a youngster who was at an accident spot himself became a victim of another accident and lost his life.

An accident had occured at around 10.30 pm on Monday January 15 on Kundapur-Basrur road between a bus and car. A college student, Nitin Poojary (20), was one among the people watching the accident scene.

A Maruti Omni vehicle which came from the direction of the town at high speed that way, hit Nitin Poojary. Poojary sustained grievous injuries to his head. Although he was immediately admitted into a private hospital here, he did not respond to treatment. His end came early morning on Tuesday January 16.

Nitin was the son of Sanjeev Poojary, residing in Karanth House at Koni near here. He was a third year BCA degree course student of Bhandarkars College.

As soon as the accident happened near his home, he had rushed to the spot and was seeing what was going on. He was standing close to the road, and after he was hit by vehicle, he suffered profuse bleeding. He could not be saved in spite of best efforts of the doctors.

The driver of the Omni vehicle went missing after the accident. The vehicle has been confiscated by the police. Nitin was a brilliant student and a friendly person, it is gathered. Bhandarkars college declared a day's holiday on Tuesday in honour of the departed student, and hundreds of students gathered near the mortuary with moist eyes to have a last glimpse of their friend.

A case about the incident was registered in traffic police station here.

More and more accidents are taking place and more and more people are killed. Rash driving, careless attitude. We all need to be careful. Not only driving but also walking on the road needs to be careful. We all should take an about turn and make use of the road and vehicles in such a way that there is not even scope for horning. Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.

That's what exactly I was thinking. That day when a shooting took place at Carstreet flocks of people were gathered everywhere. At first I was like "Is Mangaluru teru happening already" and then I came to know of the shooting and the first thing I did was run to my home.
What's wrong with people these days? Taking photos and selfies in accident spot. Heck two boys were busy taking video of a woman stuck at the railway track when a train was passing by and for what? A few Facebook likes?
I sympathize with his parents but I hope it's a lesson to all to seriously mind your business. It's an accident spot not some Facebook post. If you are one of those eye witnesses... Stay. If not, get out of there instead of causing a commotion.

What's happening? Not a single day without accidents, murders n suicides. Why. Each of us have to retrospect. A bit of patience on our part will definitely go a long way to eliminate such events. A budding flower pinched away. May his soul rest in peace. The Almighty be the solace n comfort to the bereaved parents n family members.
