Mangaluru, Jan 13: Vikas College of Physiotherapy, Mangaluru in association with South Canara Physiotherapy Teachers Association (R) hosted the inaugural function of Mangalore Physiocon 2018 on Saturday, January 13.
Blood Donation Camp was also a part of this program. Dr Umashankar Mohanty, president of Manual Therapy Foundation of India in his inaugural address briefed about the significance of Physiotherapy.
Dr UT Ifthikar Ali, the organizing chairman, MPCON 2018 opined that such programs should not conclude with inauguration alone but it should be an ongoing process to benefit the society.
Dr Sharath Kumar, blood bank officer of govt, Wenlock Hospital briefed the audience about the various blood groups, Rh factor and the need to donate blood.
J Krishna Palemar, chairman, Vikas Education Trust, former minister of environment and ports, said, “Donating blood is a great service to the society and its awareness and activities should be increased in the future.”
A mime show was conducted by the students of Vikas College of Physiotherapy to make the society aware of the importance and necessity of donating blood.
Dr Rajeshwari Devi, DMO of Govt, Wenlock Hospital, Dr Suhail, Principal of Kanachur College of Physiotherapy, J Koragappa and Suraj Kallya, Trustees of Vikas Group of Institutions, Dr D Sripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas Group of Institutions, Parthasarathy Palemar, coordinator, Vikas Group of Institutions, Dr Ramesh, convener, blood donation camp, principal, Vikas College of Physiotherapy, Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal of Vikas PU College and Dr Dinesh Naik, vice principal of Vikas PU College were present.
Aishwarya Rao compered the programme and Dr Sridevi delivered the vote of thanks.
