Udupi, Jan 12: Home minister Ramalinga Reddy, on the way to Brahmavar, stopped by to address media persons at Circuit House Bannanje here on Friday January 12. Condemning BJP's plan to hold Jail Bharo, Reddy said, "We cannot object to this as they too have the right to protest. However, they must not disturb the peace. Jail Bharo or protest must be conducted peacefully. We will not object to that,”
"None of the ancestors of BJP leaders were involved in the freedom struggle. The BJP leaders too did not fight for freedom. So they did not get a chance to be in jail. Today’s BJP generation has a desire to get the jail experience through Jail Bharo programme. Let them go ahead," he added.

Reddy's comment on RSS ban was, "Discussion is going on, but we have not received any proposal so far. Once it comes we will look into the matter. The ban order should be passed on to all communal provocative Hindu and Muslim outfits,”
"We have maintained peace in all possible ways during Tipu Jayanti and other celebrations,” he said answering a question.
Regarding cancellation of Sunny Leone event in Bengaluru during the New Year celebrations, he said, "We have only objected to the show on December 31 for security measures. We will not object if the show is held next month. Police will provide adequate security,"
