Mangaluru: Non-payment of salary - minister V K Singh holds talks with Kuwaiti government

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 12: Minister of state in the department of external affairs, Gen V K Singh, visited Kuwait on Thursday January 11 and held talks with the government there over the problems being faced by 2,084 Indian employees of Kharafi Nationl Company, who have not got their salary during the last one year.

During the discussions he had with the government of Kuwait, Singh put forth a forceful request for resolving the issue. The government there promised to raise the issue in the parliament and to take steps to mitigate problems of Indian employees of the said company. An assurance was also given that steps would be taken to disburse pending dues to the employees.

Gen Singh then met aggrieved Indian employees of the company outside the Indian embassy at Kuwait. He promised them that the Indian government will do everything possible to bring them back to their motherland.

The employees of the company had launched a protest by way of fast unto death on Wednesday January 9, accusing the company of non-payment of salaries since a year, and also charging it with not issuing visas to employees interested in returning home. Out of about 30,000 employees who have not been paid salaries since a year, 2,084 are Indians. Singh visited that country in an attempt to solve the crisis.

Indians being treated like this is the result of spineless governance provided by so called champions of secularism. in the past .It kept the majority of the Indian population under the dark cover of ignorance failing to instill self confidence amongst the people of India following the british templates of divide and rule..
The Current govts actions is worth the applause ..When it comes to protecting the rights of the downtrodden even outside the country...While my appreciation of the current govt are in certain areas only and should not be mistaken to be that of a blind bhakth or that of some myopic views of hindu philosophy.I have areas of extreme criticism for the current govt in other areas which I will disclose in other sections ..
The Kuwaitis and saudi's are known for the arrogance and rude behaviour ..time is up the workers got their due from all concerned and govt of Kuwait if need be. Now that Trump has already tacitly done the arm twisting of these draconian states ..India should piggy back on trump and follow suit assert itself when it comes to protecting its citizens abroad.

Why do you use derogatory names? Try and find if he is aware of the situation and if he is asked to solve the situation. Why should he interfere, if he is not aware of the matter? Yes, I might be a Congress supporter.

If he is not aware of the situation of Indians in Kuwait, then he is not the politician we want.
He could give a speech about hatred in India etc,but didn't bother to see what is troubling Indians there.
