Mangaluru, Jan 10: Marian Infrastructures was conferred the prestigious Association of Consulting Civil Engineering (India), ACCE (I) MLR-UltraTech Award for its landmark project St Zuze Vaz Home, Jeppu, in a glittering programme at Milagres Centenary Hall on Tuesday, January 9.
Dr M Narendra, former chairman and managing director, Indian Overseas Bank presented the prestigious award which was bagged by Marian Infrastructures under the category ‘Well-built Concrete Infrastructure’ to Fr William Menezes, PRO, Mangaluru diocese and project coordinator and Felix Albuquerque, project consultant along with the architect Praveen and Manjari Saldanha, Saldanha & Associates and Ujwal D’Souza, director of operations, Marian Projects Pvt Ltd.
Anil Sebastian D’Souza, president, ACCE (I) Mangaluru chapter, Vijay Vishnu Mayya, president, ACCE (I) South, Chandramaulishwar, secretary, ACCE(I), and Nagesh Puttaswamy, regional head, UltraTech Cement were present on the dais.
Dr Narendra said, "I appreciate ACCE (I) and UltraTech on their efforts to encourage engineers and contractors by presenting such awards. The community of engineers needed something of this sort. Along with engineer and contractors, they recognized the project owners also today. This will help strengthen the relationship between engineers and people who own or want to own beautiful villas, apartments or and any structures.
“Engineers are the backbone of any developing city or region. Their dreams are converted into landmarks of several regions. Infrastructure improvises the beauty of a city. But without the help of engineers, architects and contractors, it is difficult to convert any area’s infrastructure. I congratulate the award winners and wish them all success in their future projects,” he said.

Prominent engineers, architects and contractors from the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru were present.
