Mangaluru, Jan 3: BJP MLA C T Ravi on Wednesday January 3 lashed out at the state Congress government over the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla and alleged that the Congress has made 'internal pact' with communal forces in order to gain votes.
Addressing a press meet at the BJP office here, C T Ravi said, "In the year 2015, the Congress government had withdrawn 175 cases registered against 1,600 activists of KFD and PFI who were involved in murder and extortion. We had raised voice against the same. At the same time we alleged that the Congress had made an internal pact with communal forces to gain votes and safeguard these communal forces.
"Over 24 Hindu activists have been murdered in a similar manner including Raju, Ravi, Rudresh, Kuttappa, Prashant, Sharath Madivala and now Deepak Rao at Katipalla. These murders prove that the Congress indeed has made an agreement with the Taliban and is trying to impose Taliban policy here," he alleged.
"So far no action has been taken over frequent attacks and murders. This (Deepak's murder) is not an isolated incident. Who trained them, who are their financial source? The law is safeguarding the murderers and the government and criminals are supporting each other. This is dangerous.
"When Kuttappa died, the then home minister had passed a statement that Kerala goons had entered illegally into the state and that over 500 people were involved in communal violence. But the home minister did not reveal how many were arrested and which section was imposed on them and what action was taken against them.
"Congress should own responsibility of the attacks taking place in the state. The government is not providing any justice and is instead trying to close the issue," he claimed.
"We demand NIA probe into the murders of Hindu activists in the state. Deepak was the only bread winner in his family as his father passed away when he was 8. We demand Rs 25 lac as compensation to the bereaved family," he added.
"Ramanath Rai had given a controversial statement that the minority vote bank was the reason behind Congress winning the last elections. It is also true that they (minorities) are the reason for growing talibanism. We hence demand Ramanath Rai's resignation," Ravi said.
District BJP president Sanjeeva Matandoor, former minister Krishna J Palemar and others were present.
