Mangaluru, Jan 3: Hours after the murder of a 32-year-old man was reported at Katipalla near here, the Suratkal police in a dramatic firing arrested four accused in the case.
Deepak alias Deepu was hacked to death by four assailants in broad daylight at Katipalla on Wednesday January 3.
The Suratkal police who swung into action traced the culprits and gave them a dramatic chase. The police then opened fire to stop the accused from getting away and managed to arrest the four at Mijar in Moodbidri.
The arrested are Mulky Naushad, Rizwan, Pinky Nawaz and Nirshan.
The four assailants had come in a car and hacked Deepu to death. Deepu was an executive in a mobile company.
Sources said that the police recovered a machete from the car belonging to the accused.

Deepu (32) is the person deceased.
Deepu was working as an executive in a mobile SIM cards distribution company.
As per details available, Deepu was moving on a bike and four assailants who came in a car stopped him. They then attacked him with sharp weapons.
Identity of assailants is not known.
Police have arrived at the spot.
