Mangaluru, Jan 2: Relating to the immoral rowdism, also known as moral policing, that took place at Pilikula on Tuesday in which some college students were beaten up by Hindu activists, police arrested one person who had assaulted one of the girls. They also arrested two more persons later.
The arrested person is Sampath Shetty (25) who is a resident of Moodushedde.
Based on complaint by Melcy Serrao at Kavoor police station, the police arrested Sampath Shetty.

Police arrested two more persons named Varada and Dinesh later.
All the three accused have been charged under different sections of IPC like 341,342, 324, 506, 509,355, 153(A) etc.
As per some unconfirmed reports, the accused belong to Hindu Jagarana Vedike.
The boys and girls attacked are the students of Pompei PU College in Talipady, Aikala. They belonged to three different religious. They had come on a picnic at Pilikula.
