Mangaluru, Jan 1: Based on video footage of an incident which happened at Subrahmanya police station in Sullia taluk that went viral, superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district, Sudheer Kumar Reddy, announced that disciplinary action would be initiated against the concerned.
Allegedly, a youth who came to Subrahmanya police station on December 20, 2017 afternoon was brutally dealt with. The SP stated that the then in-charge of the station, head constable, and a constable, will face disciplinary action.

A girl was found to be moving about in Subrahmanya town in the company of a youth belonging to another religion. After the police received information from the general public, the police had brought the girl to the station. During her questioning, it came to be known that she had not informed her family before leaving her home and that a missing complaint had been filed two days back.
As per the instructions of the police, the young man came back to the police station on December 21. It is said that during this period, the police, behaved inhumanly with him. The video footage of this incident had been widely circulated in social sites. The SP has said that disciplinary action is being initiated against three persons from Subrahmanya police station relating to this incident.
