Mangaluru: St Aloysius College holds 137th annual sports day

Mangaluru, Dec 15: The department of Physical Education of St Aloysius College organised 137th Annual Athelete Meet on Thursday, December 14 at centenary ground.

Ekalavya Awardee of 2003 Clifford Joshua who is presently an assistant manager in Corportation Bank was the chief guest of the function. The function was presided over by the rector of St Aloysius Institutions Fr Dionysius Vas.



Ishrar Pasha of 1st BBA who represented India in Power-lifting at Commonwealth held in South Africa and Prathiksha Shetty of 3rd BSc who represented as Indian ambassador at International Cadet Exchange Programme 2017 were felicitated at the ceremony.

The programme started with the march past with students holding placards highlighting social issues and urge for saving mother earth.

Fr Praveen Martis welcomed the gathering. The meet was declared open by the chief guest Clifford Joshua followed by a torch relay of student conveners of sports association. The events for the athletic meet were 800 mts, shotput, 100 mts, long jump, tug of war, 4*100mts relay for students and 50 mts for both teaching and non-teaching staffs.

The winners of the day were awarded for their achievements.
