Bengaluru, Dec 8: Karnataka will be one of the first stops for Rahul Gandhi after being elevated as the Congress party president later this month.
Rahul likely to visit in January will be received in a grand rally which the state Congress is planning to organize in his honour.
A high-level meeting of Congress leaders chaired by CM Siddaramaiah and attended by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal and Congress leader in the Lok Sbaha Mallikarjun Kharge decided on a Congress yatra in all 103 constituencies which the party lost in 2013.
Siddaramaiah would kick-start the 'Sadhana Yatra' from December 13 onwards. During the high-level meeting, the leaders suggested that the yatra must comprise a bus with 50 leaders including the CM and the Karnataka Congress chief Dr G Parameshwara.
The leaders felt that Siddaramaiah and Dr Parameshwara should lead two separate yatras to strengthen the party at the grassroots and seek re-election of Congress.
