Udupi, DEc 7: Former deputy superintendent of police, Anupama Shenoy from the district, who had resigned her job because of friction with the system, had announced earlier her intention to enter election fray from Kudligi in Ballari district. Although she had chosen Kudligi constituency where she had earned popularity as an upright and honest police officer, after finding out that this happens to be a reserved constituency, she was forced to change her mind.

She said she might also choose to contest from either Ballari or Hospet constituency, in addition to Kaup. She already has undertaken door-to-door campaigning in Kaup constituency.
About her party, Bharatiya Janashakti Congress, she said the process of registration of this party will conclude by January end. She confessed that the number of candidates to be fielded on behalf of her party has not yet been finalized, although she wants to field candidates in all 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. She spelt out ending corruption, eradication of untouchability, pro-women stand and environmental protection as the basic objectives of her political outfit.
She termed Rama Mandir construction and Lingayat religion as issues raked up as measures of election gimmicks as usual. She blamed BJP of creating frictions in the name of religion and Congress of furthering it. She blamed politicians for not giving police a free hand for dealing with issues.
