Mangaluru, Nov 20: November 19 brought out all the excitement and exuberance to the already vibrant atmosphere ‘Festember’, the two-day event of Mount Carmel Central School.
The event brought in nearly 2000 parents and public to the campus. All eyes of the teachers, parents and student volunteers within the campus were eagerly waiting to welcome them. Behind the scene preparations for ‘Festember’ were indeed taxing but all the pain vanished turning into joy to see the large crowds responding on Saturday evening as well as on Sunday.
The games Tin Bowling, Fortune wheel, Feeding the joker, Fishing Pond, Minute to Minute etc and the jumping castle kept the gathering enthralled.
The Dancing Stars from various schools kept the environment fascinating. Under senior category, St Aloysius College bagged the honors and in the junior category, Mount Carmel Central School won the top prize.
The different snack stalls boosted the energy of everyone who encouraged the different fill- in- thrillers on the stage. A J Hospital First Aid personnel were ready to attend to any accidental case.
The student in their Royal Blue Festember T-Shirts danced to their hearts content, drawing in their teachers and other students into the circle to the lively music played by the drummers.
The auction of cocks and cakes, vegetables from the organic farms of parents, the paintings of students and finally the grand lucky draw was watched by many eager eyes who were hoping to be among the lucky few to win a prize.
The stage with the decorated prizes and the sponsors of these various prizes welcomed the display of winner’s artistic skills to a wide audience as the prizes were distributed.
The hand-in-labor of love of all the parents, the students and the teachers is displayed in this event. The students trained for announcements and compering and the volunteers at the stalls in marketing skills, performance on the stage to exhibit their talents made this event not just a fund rising one but a real day to be proud of by every parent, of their children’s capacity for managerial skills. This social event was a resounding success in fostering value ethics at MCCS.
