NEW DELHI, Jun 28: More than a month after the sensational twin murder including that of teenager Aarushi, the CBI arrested Raj Kumar on Friday, a domestic help of Talwar's family friend, after the forensic examination of his "washed" T-shirt opined that it contains traces of "human blood".
Raj Kumar, the Durranis' servant who had been picked up frequently for questioning by the CBI, was placed under arrest after the forensic expert's report said the "washed T-shirt, seized from his house on June 13, contains human blood," CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar said here.
The CBI investigations focused on Raj Kumar after Krishna, compounder of Dr Rajesh Talwar (already in judicial custody), had told his questioners during a narco-test that Raj Kumar was "after" Aarushi, official sources said.
It was immediately decided to place Raj Kumar under arrest to enable the CBI to carryout his custodial interrogation, the sources said, adding he would be produced before a duty magistrate in Ghaziabad on Saturday.
The CBI was also looking for any other substantial evidence which came in the way of forensic expert's opinion on his "washed T-shirt".
The CBI Joint Director said Raj Kumar had been subjected to polygraphy (lie) detection test on June 14 in Forensic Laboratory at the CBI headquarters which was followed by another similar test, psychological assessment, brain mapping and narco analysis.
The tests were conducted from June 23 to June 26 at Forensic Sciences Laboratory at Gandhinagar.
Kumar said the T-shirt had been sent to the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) for further forensic tests.
Asked whether the blood traces found on Raj Kumar's T-shirt were matching either with Aarushi or domestic help Hemraj, he said "for this purpose only, the apparel has been sent to Hyderabad."
Raj Kumar is the second person whose arrest has been effected by the CBI after the agency took over the probe on June one. Noida police had earlier arrested Aarushi's father Dr Rajesh Talwar, a dentist, on May 23.
Reacting to Raj Kumar's arrest, his employer Praful Durrani said the blood stains could be due to boils on the domestic help's body.
Both Aarushi and Hemraj were found dead at their house in sector 25 of Noida.
In a related development, Krishna was produced before a designated court today after completion of his 14 days of CBI custody. He was sent to judicial custody till July 11.
