Mangaluru, Nov 14: The birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated as the Children’s Day all over the country. Mount Carmel Central School celebrated Children’s Day on Tuesday, November 14.
In the morning, folk dance competitors entertained the students, keeping them in festive mood. This was followed by a cultural programme by the staff. The celebrations began with a welcome dance Bharatanatyam. Vice principal Sr Snehal spoke briefly on the significance of the day. The teachers enthralled the students with their sprightliness in showering their love and affection through dances and action songs. The children appreciated and enjoyed the programme as they experienced the love and care of their teachers in their performance on the stage.
Principal Sr Melissa wishing the children a happy day said, “Children spread joy and happiness in every season. They are the most beautiful creation of God.”
She wished them joy and laughter and dreams to live, for it is their day. Children had a pleasant surprise when they tasted the ice cream. The head girl Aroline Miranda voiced her feelings of gratitude to all the teachers for putting up a colourful programme. Teachers Anokimala and Leena were the compeers of the day. The beautiful day ended happily with a dance by all the children.
