Panaji, Nov 6 (TOI): Persons with disabilities who have been discriminated against in obtaining admission, employment and accessing schemes, can voice their grievances at a joint mobile court of the chief commissioner for persons with disabilities (PWD), government of India, and commissioner for persons with disabilities, Goa.
Issues regarding disability certificates, free education in appropriate environment to children up to the age of 18, reservation in admission to educational institutions, reservation in employment, reservation in poverty and alleviation schemes, rights and facilities under the Persons with Disabilities Act and any kind of discrimination against persons with disabilities will be heard and orders passed on the spot at the mobile court on November 23 at Room No 407 of Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, Collectorate Margao between 10 am and 4 pm.
Those aggrieved can collect complaint forms from the inward counters of the social welfare department, block development offices, municipalities, the Corporation of the City of Panaji and Room No 27 of the Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao, state commissioner for persons with disabilities Anuradha Joshi said.
The filled forms can be submitted at the same place or posted to the state commissioner for persons with disabilities, C/o Sanjay Centre for Special Education Research and Training, Pundalik Nagar, Alto Porvorim, to the directorate of social welfare, 18th June Road, Panaji or sent via email to socialwelfaregoa@rediffmail.com by November 10.
Applicants need to attach a copy of the disability certificate mentioning type and percentage of disability, as well as the name and address of the opposite party, besides brief facts relating to the complainant and relief sought.
