Bengaluru: Food safety officer suspended

Bengaluru, Oct 31: G Gunaseelan, food safety officer, who was assigned to check the food that was served to the President Ramnath Kovind, during the golden jubilee celebrations of vidhan soudha was suspened from service for dereliction of duties.

Gunseelan, who is the officer of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), east zone was given the prime responsibility of ensuring the quality of the food that was to be served to the President of India during his visit to Bengaluru on October 24 and October 25. However, the officer did not report to duty on those days.

Suspension order was passed in this regard by Manoj Kumar, commissioner, health and family welfare, citing violation of protocol as the reason.

    Good such a negligence should be rewarded with a immediate suspension .One should aware of their duties specially during a visit of a President.Nowadays we know how easy it is to do anything with ones food,or drink ,specially Ministers,presidents.Suppose he is with some problems faced and cant come ,please have the courtsy of reporting of absence..Should also have manners .
