Bantwal, Oct 18: Eight of the accused in the murder of Abdul Jaleel, vice president of Karopady gram panchayat in the taluk, have succeeded in securing conditional bail from the state high court.
The single judge bench of the state high court presided over by Justice K S Mudagal, which heard the criminal appeal filed by the 11 who have been named as accused in the case onTuesday October 17, sanctioned bail to eight among them. All the eight have to comply with certain bail conditions like furnishing of bond of one lac lrupees each, providing surety from a person, they should cooperate with the investigation, and that they cannot go out of the state without getting court approval.
Abdul Jaleel
Prajwal Rai, Pushparaj, Sachin, Roshan, Puneet, Vachan, Keshav, and Prashanth succeeded in getting bail through the high court. At the same time, the court denied bail lo Rajesh Nayak, named as first accused, Narasimha, and Sathish Rai.
Advocate, Arun Shyam, had presented arguments in favour of the bail applicants in the case.
