Moodbidri, Oct 16: "Chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, is involved with a number of irregularities relating to land. I have already spoken publicly about two among them. I have information about several more of his irregularities. If the CM is adamant in his assertion that he has not done anything wrong, let him provide a forum in front of Vidhan Soudha where free and fair debate can be held on this issue. I will also come there with supporting documents. The fact whether Siddaramaih is guilty of the offences or not will be proved there. If I am proved wrong in making the allegations, I will hang myself in front of Vidhana Soudha. Is Siddaramaiah prepared to resign from his position if his guilt is proved?" wanted to know former minister and state president of BJP Backward Classes Morcha, B J Puttaswamy.
Puttaswamy was speaking after presiding over the first block level backward classes convention in Dakshina Kannada district organized at Padmavati Kala Mandir here on Sunday October 15. The programme was held under the aegis of BJP.
He referred to irregular denotification of several acres of land worth crores of rupees in Ketharamanahalli and Bhoopasandra areas in Bengaluru by the CM. He also accused the state government of wasting central grants. "The state government has been using rice being provided by the central government which pays Rs 33 a kg for the rice and supplies the same to the states at three rupees a kg. While he takes credit for introducing 'Anna Bhagya' scheme, he never reveals that he is being provided rice for the scheme by the central government. The CM provides only LPG regulators to people and tries to gain mileage by repeatedly saying that he has provided gas to poor people free of cost. During the last four years and two months of Siddaramaiah's rule, the state has witnessed 6,521 murders, rape of 19,000 women and rape of 5,700 children. Most of the victims belonged to backward classes," he stated.
If we compare the governance of Siddarmaiah-led-government which just smeared ghee to the lips of poor people and consumed ghee himself, Yeddyurappa government had given commendable work in the field of welfare of backward classes and large grants were given. He also predicted that because of his own follies, Siddaramaiah will not get elected either his home consttituency, Varuna, or Chamundeshwari in Mysuru.
