Bengaluru, Oct 15: In-charge of Congress party affairs in Karnataka, K C Venugopal, said that he will retire from politics if the sexual harassment allegation made against him is proved. He termed the alleged incident of sexual harassment involving him as false and baseless.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday October 14, he explained that there is not even one black spot in his 40-year-long political career. "It is being said that a woman, who is involved with 36 criminal cases, has accused me of sexually harassing her. I have filed defamation suit against the woman concerned in a court in Ernakulam. Opposition parties have been indulging in such tactics since decades to sully images of Congress party leaders, and I do not attach too much importance to such things," he explained.
On this occasion, Venugopal said is aware that minister, Roshan Baig, used certain abusive words against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, without meaning it. "Still, I have sought clarification from him. There are many instances in which BJP leaders used language that was uglier than what Baig did. In spite of this, Baig was not right in using certain words. I will look into the issue further after receiving his explanation," he stated.
