Mangaluru Oct 11: Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) and Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) staged protest opposite Mini Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday October 11, against the arrest of HJV leader Jagadish Karanth.
Addressing the protestors, joint secretary of VHP Shivanand Mendon, said," State government has utterly failed in providing justice for the people. Hindu activists are constantly booked under criminal cases for demanding justice. State government is doing this to gain vote from the minorities and they are against the Hindus. We strongly condemn this. Police are not arresting the cow smugglers. Instead they arrest the cow protectors,”
“This protest has been organised in both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts at different places. Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy had ordered to arrest Jagadish Karanth for his speech. This indicates they want to destroy Hindu activists. Now it is proved that Jagadish Karanth is innocent as he has been granted a bail. Government should treat everyone equally and stop vote bank politics."
HJV leaders Vasanth Shetty, Sandeep Shetty and others were present.
