Mangaluru: Man crushed to death in accident at Kaikamba

Mangaluru, Oct 10: A man was crushed to death by a tipper lorry in a tragic accident at Kaikamba here on Tuesday October 10.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar, a resident of Malali.

It is learnt that Bhaskar was riding his scooter, when a bike rammed into him. As a result, Bhaskar was thrown off the scooter, and at that moment, passing tipper moved over him, crushing him to death.

Bajpe police arrived at the spot.

A case has been registered against the tipper driver.

    It is total lack of driving training
    Only 1% may be aware of international driving skill and knowledge.
    Even if you give a formula one track also, you cannot avoid accidents in India since all driving rules are broken.
    Get the international driving test standards and see the result
    No point in blaming

    Any amount of caution is not enough. There should always be breaking distance between two vehicles. This is particularly necessary in case of emergencies to stop a vehicle - thus avoid accidents

    Horrible.I find the tipper has no fault,since biker had hit the scooter and was thrownout.Tipper had no time to halt ,unfortunately victim came under his vehicle.Police should actually arrest or file case on biker for his reckless driving and causing accident.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.

    if there is no proper roads in India this will happen no street lights no proper humps speed brakers municipalities will not do the road works in proper time every where ponds, bribes are still going on to pass the Tenders, And no one is worried about road developments all are busy with Cow, Beef politics pada yatras, etc etc, also need to add there is money for bullet train, and great Pratimas. but end of the day Common man is dyeing why because he travels in bicycle or scooter while rich posh peoples travels in Four Wheel drives etc, Oh Almighty Save us save the poor peoples.......

    When Manipal police can book a father for the death of his child; what is surprising if the tipper driver is booked for the death of a motorist?

    If the Karnataka traffic police’s logic is applied, then some of the major cases in India will be decided as follows:
    - In Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984, the victims would be blamed because they dared to ‘breath’ the poisonous gas;
    - In Nirbhaya’s case in Delhi 2012, Nirbhaya would be blamed because she was a woman and she dared to venture out at night;

    Similarly, the toddler's father was booked for death in Manipal because he dared to use a two-wheeler in that pathetic road.

    Mudubidre kaikamba Mangalore road is very narrow. Need to add extra 5 feet on both sides so that vehicles pass comfortably. Why our state government is resting in peace?
