Mangaluru: Two bike-borne people stabbed - accused arrested

Mangaluru, Oct 9: In an incident which happened at Bykampady Meenakaliya on the night of Saturday October 7, two people stabbed two others in an inebriated condition after picking up a quarrel on a silly pretext, leaving them seriously injured.

The accused, Michael Naveen (35), a rowdy sheeter and Yogeesh (32), both from Meenakaliya, who are accused in this incident were arrested by Panambur police on Sunday.

At around 11.30 pm on Saturday, Ashwith (28) and Rakshit (29), who are contractors, were riding on a motor bike, when the accused stopped them and began a fight on a silly pretext. When the verbal altercation worsened, they drew out knives, launched murderous assault on the duo and escaped. Both the injured were immediately rushed to a private hospital in the city.

The arrest was made by a team led by Panambur police inspector, Rafiq Kelinja. A murder attempt case was lodged against the two accused. Michael Naveen faces two murder cases in Suartkal station and another case in Panambur station, it is gathered. Yogeesh does not face any case so far.
