Puttur: Provocative speech case – HJV leader Jagadish Karanth gets bail

Puttur, Oct 7: The court in Puttur has granted bail to Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) leader Jagadish Karanth after he was arrested for his communally provocative and offensive speech against Puttur police inspector Khader.

Karanth was arrested on September 30 and was released on conditional bail soon after the arrest.

The bail application was heard by the first judicial magistrate on October 7 and the bail was granted.

It may be recalled that Jagadish Karanth had made a provocative speech against Khader, sub-inspector from Puttur police station during a convention organised at Puttur's Kille Maidan on September 15.

Karanth was arrested in Bengaluru.
