Udupi, Oct 5: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday October 5 demanded an apology from minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader for his statements on the reported connection between BJP members and PFI and KFD.
Answering media queries at Sri Krishna Math, she said, "U T Khader is misleading the entire system by passing wrong statements. He said that BJP members are connected to PFI and KFD. Such relations are possible only with members of the Congress party. Sharath Madivala, Prashant Poojary, and Rudresh were killed by PFI members and it is proved legally. BJP does not need the help of PFI and KFD. Khader should apologise for his statement."
'State government misusing ACB'
"Siddaramaiah-led government in the state cannot handle even the simplest of situations. I-T and ED conducted raids on many people and businessmen after demonetisation. The I-T and ED departments have kept an eye on many businessmen. The I-T department has been conducting raids on lacs of people in the past 70 years and has been seeking account details from them. It has been conducting raids in Karnataka from a very long time," she said.
"Surprisingly, Karnataka government conducted an I-T raid on I-T department officers by using ACB for the first time in history. It is an insult and shame to the state. This action shows how the government is misusing the ACB to conceal its corrupt activities. I-T officers are not scared of anyone. If the state government has complaints against I-T officials, they are supposed to bring it to the attention of the union government first seeking CBI investigation," she said.
"The end is near for Congress party. Chief minister Siddaramaiah has been threatening I-T and ED bureaucrats to hide corruption in BBMC and other departments. Now the central government has to appoint honest and sincere bureaucrats in more numbers in Karnataka. Illegal and corruption activities should be revealed," she added.
'Spoke to Rajnath Singh about IS operation in coastal region'
Answering a query on alleged presence of terrorists in coastal Karnataka, she said, "There is terrorism in coastal parts. PFI and KFD are a part of Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), a banned organisation. I have appealed the central government to set up National Investigation Agency (NIA) office in the coastal region here to prevent terror activities, love Jihad and anti-social activities and also to control anti-national activities. It is being said that a team of ISIS is operating in the coastal region. I have already spoken to minister of home affairs Rajnath Singh and also demanded a detailed investigation on the same."
Roads to be set right soon
Regarding the plight of Malpe-Manipal road, Shobha said, "A proposal of Rs 638 crore for Malpe-Theerthahalli road has been sent to the government. The DPR on the project will reach the central government from the state soon. Before that, I have strictly instructed the officials concerned to take up construction work from today at any cost. As per information, road work has kicked-off from Parkala. Repair and filling of potholes will be completed soon. Tender for the work on Manipal-Parkala four lane roads will be called once the DPR gets approved by the union government."
