Mangaluru: Driver stops auto rickshaw on bridge, jumps into river Nethravati

Mangaluru, Oct 5 : An auto rickshaw driver stopped his vehicle on the bridge and jumped into the river on Thursday, October 5.

The incident took place at the bridge between Mangaluru and Ullal.

Basheer Ahmad from Kodikal Ashoknagar is the auto driver.

Eyewitnesses said it could be a suicide bid.

Personnel from Kankanady police station and fire brigade are working are involved in the search operation.

    Probably he is either a witness or involved in this murder matter?Or someone is behind him ,so that try to escape by jumping into river swimm to the other end?God knows.I dont think he tried to suecide.when he wanted to suecide would have done by other times or means,but not inbetween the group of people.Things are going bad to worse these days.One kills ther other ,next doesnt wait for long.

    brothers another audio came from his uncle saying that hia body has been not yet recovered where he says if he had gone for petrol at 11.30am still have not come .
    ...where is he???

    Agree Sir... Me too had a drowning experience even after being quit good swimmer.. in the river near Vangni Estate in Mumbai on weekend office trip.. I was swimming wearing jeans and got exhausted and tired as there was unexpected current flowing downside...my group was far away i could not call them for help.. i was almost drowning due to lack of strength...Miraculously one strange person ( he seem like 20 year old village boy) jumped into and gave his hand just for a 10 Secs and i got all my energy and confident back to swim again to survive...after that i could not find that boy to thank...till the date am thankful to that boy.
    The first stage of drowning usually involves feelings of extreme panic as the person fights to survive...this kind of struggling lets the oxygen in the body run out fast...!one should avoid wearing heavy clothes like jeans while venturing into water.

    Getting drowned and the experience is known only to those who survive.
    One thing for sure, if we do not know swimming and go under the water, first thing takes place is consuming water before someone comes to a help. I was learning swimming and accidentally lost my breath and drank too much water. Thank God my cousin in the village was with me. I gave up interest permanently. To learn swimming must start at early age.

    Where it is mentioned as effect of Blue whale game?
    Can we presume GST effect?
    That is left to police job.
    I remember the first incident which took place jumping from the bridge in 197o's or so, an young love pair in their teens. After that time so many suicide incidents have taken place from that spot!

    Nethravathi River water looks very horrible and scary from the bridge..One must have guts to jump into that water.
    Drowning is not at all pleasant experience. RIP
