Bengaluru, Oct 4: Multi-language actor Prakash Rai has come under attack by the state BJP leaders on Tuesday, October 3 for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day earlier.
Prakash Rai had hit out at Modi for his silence on journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder.
“We may not be able to see Gauri’s killers but we can see those who have spewed vitriol. The people, who our Prime Minister follows, are among them,” Rai had said.
Rai had also said that he would return his awards as Modi was a better actor.

BJP state spokesperson and former minister S Suresh Kumar recalled that Rai had refused to react on the Cauvery water dispute. “Rai had stated that he was an actor and it will be wrong on his part to comment on sensitive issue,” Kumar said.
“But now the same Prakash Rai does not seem to mind to criticise the Prime Minister. If Rai has any political ambition, let him float his own political party,” Kumar added.
Reacting on Rai’s remarks, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said “Modi critics have been on the rise during the recent days. Rai cannot belittle Modi by making baseless remarks,”
Yeddyurappa also said that the BJP had condemned the murder and sought an impartial probe.
