Mangaluru, Sep 28: National president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, will arrive in the city on Wednesday, October 4. But there will be no Padayatra as planned.
The rectification came after fervid discussions among the BJP leaders about organising Padayatra in the city during the party president's visit, under his leadership, to register protest against the state government on various issues including killing of Hindu activists.
Sources claim that Shah will not be taking part in Padayatra, but he will take part in other programmes in the city as already announced.
Shah is scheduled to attend two programmes hosted by the party in the city. He will have a meeting with the state BJP leaders, in which B S Yeddyurappa, Ananth Kumar, Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa and other leaders will participate.
Shah will also hold discussions with experts in different spheres and prominent personalities, in the evening at TMA Pai auditorium.
A day prior, on Tuesday October 3, Shah is scheduled to inaugurate Kerala BJP's Janarakshane Yatra that will start in Kannur and culminate at Thiruvananthapuram.
