Bengaluru, Sep 27: A strange incident in which a citizen of Bangladesh, who sneaked into India illegally, was enabled to travel to Dubai with the help of Indian passport has come to light. Some agents from the city had helped the concerned to do this trick.
A case stands registered in this connection on the basis of a complaint filed by officials of the immigration department of the airport here. The complaint names the accused as Rana Hussain (22) from Jhenidah district of Bangladesh. He had arrived at the airport here by an Oman Air flight via Muscat on the night of September 23 this year.
The immigration department officials, who grew suspicious, checked the documents and found that Rana had obtained passport on the basis of fake documents. The police who have registered the case are now looking for the agents who helped in this fraudulent deal.
Rana Hussain had crossed Indian border in 2013 with the help of a Bangladesh agent, Hussain, and entered West Bengal. He travelled by train to the city and began to work as tailor in Akbar Nagar, Shikaripalya in Jigani, Anekal taluk here. He came to be acquainted with Babul Hussan and Noor Islam and with their help, obtained fake birth certificate in the name of Assam government. He also got transfer certificate issued in the name of M E School, Bashugaon, Kokrajhar district, Assam. By using these documents,he got Adhar card and PAN card. In January this year, he got passport after applying for the same through the passport office at Koramangala here.
Rana told the investigators that he had gone to Dubai on work visa in August and worked there as tailor for a month. As he could not cope with the environment there, he decided to return, he stated. He now stands booked for criminal activities against a nation, fraud, forgery etc.
