Mangaluru, Sep 24: Chief minister Siddaramaiah's media advisor Dinesh Amin Mattu on Sunday September 24 made an explosive claim RSS in its recent convention had discussed about 'stopping' him.
Addressing a seminar on the topic 'Yuvajanara Guru Matthu Guri - Narayana Guru' to mark the 163rd birth anniversary of Brahmashri Narayana Guru at St Aloysius College here, Mattu said, "As per an intelligence report, recently during the RSS convention at Karkala in the presence of its leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, point was raised to stop Dinesh Amin Mattu. We are in a situation where the bullet that had pierced Gauri Lankesh may pierce me or you. So in this present scenario, youths have a lot of responsibility and should have right guidance to achieve your aim. The preaching of Narayana Guru should inspire youths.
"Today youths are in a lot of confusion without proper guidance. It is the responsibility of the elders to guide youths in into a proper channel. Youths have played prominent role in bringing political and social changes. Narayana Guru movement brought changes in Kerala. Kerala was very quiet even after the demolition of Babri masjid and the state had only 18% of Christians. Today things have changed drastically and in every corner there are Malayalees. How was it possible - it is because of the Narayana Guru movement in Kerala," he said.
"The problem in Dakshina Kannada is unemployment, alcoholism, gambling etc. We have never thought of all this as a big problem. Even those vigilantes wearing saffron shawls never thought of this as a big problem. I have always bowed to the preachings of Narayana Guru and Swami Vivekananda regarding the Hindu community. Narayana Guru was fighting against unemployment, alcoholism, gambling and preffered simple marriage without any hype and extravagance. If there had been no Narayana Guru movement, the Hindu community would have vanished in Kerala. Through this movement a group of educated people have groomed the likes of engineers, doctors, lawyers, thinkers, religious leaders, actors and many more," said Amin Mattu.
"If we think Islam and Christianity are problems and ask Muslims to go to Pakistan and Christians to Rome, then I will also join if it is proved (that they are a problem). Dakshina Kannada district is educated, well disciplined, a cultured district but it is not so becaused of those who wear saffron shawls, red kumkum and hold swords. This culture and discipline was brought because of the hard work of our ancestors and their contribution," he added.
