Mysuru, Sep 14: "I have no idea who Gauri Lankesh was. I do not know anything about her father too. I also am ignorant why they used to be critical of me. I have never read the weekly published by them so far. I am not hurt that they wrote often against me, but I condemn the killing of Gauri Lankesh," clarified Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. He was speaking to media persons after taking over 555 quintals of rice collected through donations in the city under his social campaign titled 'Bhikshandehi' on Wednesday September 13 for his schools.
Kalladka said there was no personal enmity between him and Gauri Lankesh. He said that RSS does not tolerate physical torture in spite of bitter difference people might be having on issues. "RSS strongly ondemns the murder of Gauri Lankesh," he stated.
"People who claim themselves to be rationalists usually have connections with foreign-based powers. For the fear that they might lose out on commission they receive from abroad, they indulge in false campaign against us. We are neither leftists nor rightists but purely nationalists," he stated.
He heaped criticism on chief minister, Siddaramaiah. "Those who snatched away food of the children of my school, most of whom belong to backward castes, by stopping the grant have done something that is against righteousness. I will not meet the chief minister seeking grants for my school. Those who do things that are against righteousness are demonic. I do not approach such persons seeking favours," he added.
