Puttur, Sep 14: Arunkumar Puttila, leader of Pro-Hindu organizations, filed a complaint in the city police station here on Wednesday September 13 against social activist, Jignesh Mevani from Gujarat. In his complaint, Puttila urged the police to take legal action against Mevani for his outbursts against Prime Minister (PM) and central government at a programme organized at Bengaluru to condemn the killing of Gauri Lankesh.
"Mevani has alleged that the PM and union government are responsible for the death of Gauri Lankesh. Mevani has indulged in an act of treason by branding the PM of the country as a murderer. It is wrong to make statements publicly at a time when investigation into Gauri's murder is in progress, as per the observation of the court. Jignesh Mevani has violated this court order in making the above statement," Puttila said in the complaint.
Puttila said that Mevani is guilty of making false allegation against the PM, making derogatory statements about the PM's mother and issuing anti-national statements by transgressing the order of the court. He has sought immediate arrest of the accused and investigation into the allegation made against him.
