Dubai, Sept 13 : Deral Menezes has been elected as the new president of ‘United Brahmavarites’ which is celebrating its seventh successful year of community service and of uniting cultural events with social causes.

Deral Menezes had been an active member of the ICYM in his youth and was also the ex-president of the ICYM Brahmavar. Being a successful stage actor and a compere, Deral is closely associated with religious activities of the parish he belongs to.

In his acceptance speech, he profusely thanked the outgoing president Jeevan Sequeira and the secretary Philomena D’Costa for the service they rendered during their tenure and for making United Brahmavarites a more cohesive unit and promised to continue the efforts to take United Brahmavarites to a new dimension with the support of all its members.

Deral will be primarily assisted in his duties by the new vice president Deric Banz who is an excellent event organizer and multi-talented secretary Janet Sequeira who has acted in many Tulu and Konkani dramas.

The outgoing president Jeevan Sequeira and secretary Philomena D’Costa handed over all the responsibilities to the newly elected office bearers and thanked all members for their support and sought the same for the new team.
