Mangaluru, Sep 12: One man died and many suffered injuries as result of serial accident that took place at Bhatkal on Wednesday, September 13. Three buses and a lorry were involved in the accident.
Nihadi Abdullah G.M (35) from Manjeshwar near Mangaluru, who was the lorry driver, died on the spot.
The lorry carrying fish was going to Kerala from Goa and Ganesh Travels bus was heading to Hubballi from Mangaluru. After these two vehicles collided, speeding Sugama bus hit Ganesh Travels bus from back side. After few minutes another Ganesh Travels bus which was heading towards Hubballi from Mangaluru hit Sugama bus from behind.
One Ganesh Travels bus driver was seriously injured and he was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru.
Sugama bus driver Gause Saheb (58) and cleaner Lokesh (24) also sustained injuries.
Sampa Shankar Shet (50), Narayan Shet (65), Divya Nagraj Shet (34), Subhash (44) Prashant K (38) Ganesh Venkatesh (36) Shankar Shet (65) Mohandas (46) Sindra Shet (65) Vijaya Sondra Shet (50) are the other injured from Ganesh Travel bus.
Traffic was affected on the road for many hours. Police helped in clearing the road.
Bhatkal Rural police have registered a case.
