Kochi, Sep 12: A case stands registered against a leader of Hindu outfits for delivering hate speech in a public function held near Kochi on Friday last.
State president of Hindu Aikyavedi, K P Sasikala, speaking at north Paravoor, had asked rationalist authors to perform Mrityunjaya Homa in the temple of Lord Shiva to save themselves from getting slain like Gauri Lankesh.
Gauri Lankesh (55), some claim, was murdered because of her strong anti-Hindutva stance. Policemen said that Sasikala has been booked for giving impetus to disturbances through her infuriating address.
Another leader of this organization, R V Babu, who also delivered a firebrand address at the same function, also has been booked for similar offence. The speech of Sasikala was aired by the media and chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan and several Congress leaders have bitterly criticized her for her outbursts.
In the speech, Sasikala can be heard to be saying that BJP is not under compulsion to toe the line which were adopted by rationalists.
Leader of the opposition in the assembly, Ramesh Chennittala, has urged the police to register non-bailable case against Sasikala for delivering this controversial speech.
At the same time, BJP and Hindu Aikyavedi organizations have claimed that the speech of Sasikla was twisted by the concerned to suit their designs before airing the same by the media.
