Mangaluru: Mayor Kavita Sanil meets CM - seeks special grant of Rs 50 crore

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 12: City mayor, Kavita Sanil, met Karnataka chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah, at Bengaluru, and urged him to release special grant from CM's fund of Rs 50 crore for undertaking various development works within city corporation limits.

Kavita, who met Siddaramaiah at his official residence, 'Kaveri' on Monday September 11 evening, in addition, urged the CM to post officers and employees to various vacant posts in the city corporation at the earliest. She said that officers and staff are required to ensure that development works are held without any hitch in city corporation limits.

The mayor told the CM that there has been tardy progress in development works within the city on account of shortage of staff. She therefore sought urgent posting to spots that are lying vacant since long. Later, Kavita said that the chief minister positively responded to her demands.

At present, 50 percent of posts in the city corporation are lying vacant. Every year, a number of employees retire. Since the last ten years, no new appointments have been made. Repeated demand to fill vacancies have fallen on deaf ears so far.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, accompanied the mayor during this visit.

    I agree with you madam....

I remember our hero, the Ex-railway minister, George Fernandes's words while laying the foundation stone for Konkan Railway at Udupi "If Money is there.... Railway. If Money is not there... Survey..." about the damn delay in starting Konkan Railway the route of which surveyed repetitively from British period. He sanctioned the necessary funds for the same and announced the Railway work will start if George is alive or not from that day and he committed... Today Konkan Railway became a reality..

Which party ruled India before George took this deterministic step ? Yes. It is Congress.. If Corruption, Laziness or whatever reason the work is delayed the party in power is responsible... How other party can be blamed ? Govt employees won't work. It is an open truth. Then why Indira nationalized the functioning Banks ? Now bank employees are agitating against Privatisation. Which bank is run by German govt there (I don't know.. You have to tell). Airfare is costly. Common man can't fly through flight. It should be profitable. Why Air India is under loss ?

BJP now is about Privatisation.... CPI about nationalization..... Congress is about _____________ (Fill the blanks)
