Bengaluru, Sep 8: Apparently, Kavita Lankesh, sister of slain journalist, Gauri Lankesh, and brother, Indrajit Lankesh, have differences of opinion over who should be entrusted with the task of investigating this murder. They also differ about whether naxals had a role in Gauri's murder or not.
Indrajit stated that if special investigation team fails to achieve the objective, he would be demanding a probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He hinted that Naxal hand might be behind his sister's murder, but Kavita dismissed such a possibility.
Although both of them addressed a joint conference here on Thursday, apparently there was difference in their tone and tenor. Indrajit, who initially said he would like CBI investigation into the murder, changed his stand after Kavita said that it has become a fashion to demand for CBI investigation, by saying that if special investigation team fails to provide justice he would personally demand CBI investigation.
Kavita said that she could think only of ideological differences resulting in this murder and accused the media of trying to mislead investigation by claiming that naxals were involved with this murder.
