Mysuru, Sep 7: Death threats have started reaching a number of leaders through anonymous calls and on twitter. Some of them have approached police seeking protection.
MP representing local constituency, Pratap Simha, has approached the city police commissioner seeking legal action against those who have been instigating his murder. "In connection with the murder of veteran journalist, Gauri Lankesh, a rationalist, Anantamurty B, has posed death threat to me and also has incited others to kill me through social website, twitter. I request you to take legal action, arrest the person, investigate, and take legal action besides extending protection to me," he said in the complaint.

He also enclosed a screen shot of the twitter message from Anantamurty that calls for putting an end to the lives of Chakravarthi Sulibele and Pratap Simha.
In the meanwhile, leader of the opposition in the state legislative council, K S Eshwarappa, met district superintendent of police, Abhinav Khare, at Shivamogga, and handed over a complaint to him about the death threat he received from an unidentified person and requested for protection.
