Mangaluru, Sep 4: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Sudheer Kumar Reddy, showed video footage relating to search conducted by police in the house of Kalandar, who has gone into hiding relating to Sharath Madivala murder case, to prove that police had not indulged in activities like tearing Quran and Madrasa books as alleged by the family members of Kalandar.
He said that strict action will be taken if it is found that books were torn by people after the police left. He pointed out that in the video footage released by the family, police personnel are never found. He added that during the search, the police got some clues about Kalandar's whereabouts and that the police are confident of arresting him soon.

The video presented by the police shows that the police removed their footwear before entering the house, showed search warrant to the family before beginning the search.
The video also shows the investigating officer questioning the family about the contents of a bag at which the family says it should not be touched. After the family opened the bag and showed contents to family, the video shows that the bag was returned to the family.
The entire search operation has been recorded on video and nowhere any scene of tearing of books could be seen.
