Bengaluru, Aug 26: Taking the programme of Reaching out to Dalits to the next level, State BJP President and former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be hosting a special lunch for Dalits at his residence in Dollars Colony in Bengaluru on Monday.
The decision is touted as a gesture of thanksgiving for the hospitality extended to him by the Dalits during his State-wide tour recently.
Yeddyurappa has invited 33 Dalit families for lunch at his home in Dollars Colony on Monday.
It is these 33 Dalit families with whom the BJP President had shared breakfast in their homes during the Jan Sampark Abhiyan undertaken by the party.
After welcoming the Dalit brethren with great affection at his home, Yeddyurappa will also have an informal chat with them.
He will then serve food to them himself at his home.
Thanking the Dalits for providing him breakfast as well as showering him love and affection, Yeddyurappa will personally see them off after the lunch.
By visiting the homes of Dalits and inviting them to his house, Yeddyurappa has sought to write a new chapter in the
BJP’s commitment and slogan, “BJP’s march towards Dalits Home”.
Apparently by his acts and deeds, Yeddyurappa wishes to demonstrate his personal commitment for Dalit welfare and need to create social harmony in the society which is bigger and greater than politics.
The BJP State President’s gesture of bringing Dalits into mainstream by his special and programme seeks to create an atmosphere of brotherhood.
